Giving Tuesday

Dear Choir Families and Alumni-

Today is “Giving Tuesday” and we are so thankful for all of the ongoing support we receive from you!  We are fortunate to have families provide monetary and/or in-kind gifts. The choir continues to rely on your support and generosity.  Thank you!

Choir members rehearsing for the 2020 Holiday Concert

The past year and a half have certainly been interesting for our organization, but we have continued to find creative ways to hold in-person rehearsals in a safe manner for singers and staff, and we are thrilled to be preparing for our first indoor in-person concert in two years! This year, we continue to sing in the Church Street Parking Garage, and have been so thankful for the ongoing support of the Village of Libertyville in providing this space for us. Due to improved Covid-19 statistics and access to vaccines, we have been able to provide a mask-optional environment this year since we are singing outdoors. Seeing the singers’ full faces and their beautiful smiles has truly been a gift. As we move into the colder months, we are thankful to be able to return to indoor rehearsals at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, which we haven’t been able to do since March, 2020! Transitioning to indoor singing will involve mandatory mask usage, but we are thankful that we can continue to provide a safe choral experience for our amazing singers!

This year is a very special year for the Red Rose Children’s Choir of Lake County in that we are celebrating our 25th season!

As such, we hope you will mark your calendars to join us on Sunday, June 5th at Stevenson High School for an exceptional tribute to this milestone. More information will be forthcoming, but we will be having an alumni choir, special events that weekend, and are thrilled to debut a commissioned work by Jacob Narverud entitled “Morningsong.” This is definitely an event you do not want to miss! (Please share alumni email addresses with us so we don’t miss anyone!)

There is no better way to ring in the holiday season than attending a Red Rose Holiday Concert!

As noted above, this is our first indoors concert since December 2019, and the singers have been hard at work preparing for this event. Please join us on Saturday, December 18th at 2:00pm or 4:30pm at Vernon Hills High School! Ticket purchasing information will be forthcoming.

As always, our organization truly relies on your generosity to continue providing an exceptional choral experience for singers in our area.

If you would like to provide a donation to the choir, you can send a check to P.O. Box 7712, Libertyville, IL 60048 or use a credit card with PayPal (RedRoseNicole@gmail.com). Donations received prior to December 10, 2021, will be included in the Holiday Concert program. If your donation is in honor of a singer(s) or you would like your donation to remain anonymous, please make note of it when sending it. Donations are tax-deductible. The choir is a non-profit (501)(c)(3) organization.

We wish you all a wonderful holiday season!  Thank you again for your support!
